About American Eagle Outfitters:
American Eagle is a well-established U.S. clothing brand, widely recognized for its denim, casualwear, and strong brand identity—especially among high school and college-age customers. They focus heavily on authenticity and community, and they’ve built a loyal following because of it.
Project Overview:
American Eagle brought us in to tackle a specific challenge at one of their industrial-themed store locations. The goal was to integrate custom lighting into a central display area—specifically around their flagship jeans section—without disrupting the overall ceiling design or store flow.
What We Did:
We designed and built a custom industrial grid system that would sit in the center of the space and hold both functional and decorative lighting. From a technical perspective, it needed to be rock solid, easy to install, and clean in execution—both in daylight and when lit up.
Lighting Details:
The core lighting used linear sources housed within industrial-style tubes. These were spaced to ensure even coverage across the display area while keeping sightlines clean and the aesthetic consistent with the rest of the store.
Creative Integration:
Some of the unused tubes were converted into purely decorative fixtures. Here’s the unique part—we wrapped those elements in actual American Eagle denim. Not printed fabric. Actual denim, the same material they use in their jeans. That added a subtle but powerful branding moment inside the store that still felt native to the design.
Execution:
Everything we built was designed to be installed with minimal interruption to store operations. It fit directly into the ceiling layout, aligned with the store’s design intent, and didn’t require major infrastructure changes. It’s one of those installs that doesn’t scream for attention—but when you look closer, it’s clear how much thought went into it.
The Result:
The store kept its industrial identity, but now with a lighting package that feels customized and on-brand. The denim-wrapped details added character, and the overall lighting performance checked every box for the client. We were proud to be part of it.
