About Microsoft:
Everyone knows Microsoft. Their Redmond campus is massive—and when they reached out for help on an outdoor lighting install, we knew it had to hit high on design and durability.
Project Scope:
We were brought in to engineer and deliver custom decorative lighting for Microsoft’s outdoor terrace and rooftop garden. The objective: ambient, clean, and integrated with the landscape—globes lit from the inside that actually perform.
Design and Engineering:
We built oversized landscape globes that were internally lit—uniform glow, no hotspots. We used a combination of underlighting and internal shielding to protect the lighting components from weather and debris while keeping the visual clean.
Structural + Site Constraints:
This was a rooftop install—wind load was a real concern. We anchored every unit with structural mounts rated for that specific location. All drivers were buried underground and vented properly. No exposed wiring. No visible hardware.
Aesthetic Meets Function:
The fixtures varied in diameter and were laid out to complement the existing landscape design. At night, they create an ambient effect; during the day, they blend into the space. Functional light that doesn’t scream for attention.
Impact:
The final install gave Microsoft a polished, architectural-grade lighting setup that elevated the experience for their employees and visitors—without compromising on weather protection or code compliance. Simple, smart, and exactly what the space needed.
